Border Terrier (Comprehensive Owners Guide) (Comprehensive Owners Guide) Author: Muriel P. Lee Binding: Hardcover Price: $11.81 Courageous of heart, active and game, this little working terrier known as the Border Terrier delights his owners with his friendly, happy disposition as well as his unwavering work ethic. Historically bred to follow the horses on the hunt, this is an energetic, purposeful terrier that is smart and resourceful, requiring an owner who can keep up with his quick mind and body. Author Muriel P. Lee, terrier judge and breeder, has provided an excellent introduction to the Border Terrier in this new Special Limited Edition. This comprehensive guide includes the history of the breed in England and the US, a discussion of the breeds characteristics and standard, a chapter on puppy selection, care and rearing. The author also discusses house-training and obedience training plus preventing (and solving) behavior problems. General maintenance, including feeding the Border throughout his life,
| BORDER TERRIER (Pet Owner's Guide) Author: Betty Judge Binding: Hardcover Price: $6.81 I found this book to be a helpful, basic guide about Border Terriers. It's nicely illustrated with color photographs. It's not real preachy, and would appeal to any border terrier owner. Good grooming tips and a helpful health section on care and identifying potential problems. The author seems to genuinely love the breed and seems "spot-on" regarding the breed's behavior characteristics.
| About the Border Terrier Author: Verite Reily Collins Binding: Hardcover Price: $21.32 This is a fine comprehensive guide to Border Terriers. The author is English, appropriate for writing about a breed that is far more popular in the U.K. than in the U.S. Anyone thinking about acquiring one of these dogs as a pet should take the time to thoroughly read this book as it presents both the enormous rewards as well as the requirements for having a successful experience as the owner of a Border. Every aspect is covered, including the importance of stimulation for a breed that will happily curl up at your feet as long as there is some time in the day devoted to giving both physical and mental exercise to these intelligent and independent dogs. We liked the look of the Border Terrier on a dog show, read this book, found a breeder, and six years later, our Molly is a delightful part of our family.
